Bhutan often revered as the "Land of the Thunder Dragon" or “Druk Yul”, is still regarded as one of the last "Shangri-La's" in the Himalayan region because of its remoteness, its spectacular mountain terrain, varied flora and fauna and its unique ancient Buddhist monasteries. Bhutan is no ordinary place. It is in the relatively unexplored pockets of Asia, which allows only a limited number of discerning travelers in order to preserve its fragile environment and culture in its magical purity.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Paro to Thimphu (1.3 hr):
Upon arrival in Paro International airport you will be received by HBT representative and drive to Thimphu by private vehicle. Depending on arrival time, we can proceed for city sightseeing or relax in the hotel. Visit interesting weekend market (Thu-Sun). Vegetable vendors from different pockets of the country come to sell their products. In the evening we will explore the city by walk or visit Tashichho Dzong, which houses throne room of His Majesty the King. Overnight in Thimphu, altitude 2300m

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing:
In the morning we will visit handmade paper mill, School of Arts and crafts (closed on Sundays, government holidays) where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan. We will also visit nearby folk heritage museum and national library before lunch. After lunch, drive pass by memorial chorten built in memory of the 3rd King. Visit Buddha viewpoint, Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery. Overnight in Thimphu

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha (2 ˝ hrs):
Today’s drive passes through Dochula pass at 3150 making the most beautiful pass in Bhutan. 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens, built over the pass by queen mother in 2003 marks the pass more important than another passes. When the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. After a photo break, we will continue our drive to warm valley of Punakha. On arrival, check into the hotel. Afternoon, we will visit the most beautiful Punakha Dzong, which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. The Dzong, showcase the finest example of the arts and crafts of Bhutan. Overnight in Punakha, altitude 1350m

Day 4: Punakha to Paro (3 ˝ hrs):
We will retrace the drive back to Paro. En route we will visit Chimi Lhakang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. Afternoon we will visit National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. Visit 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Visit Kichu Lhakhang, one from the two oldest temples built in 7th century. Evening stroll old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores. Overnight in Paro, altitude 2200m

Day 5: Paro Sightseeing:
In the morning, we will hike to Tiger’s Nest Temple, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro valley at 900m above the valley floor. The temple is associated with Guru Rimpoche who visited in 8th century and believed to have meditated three months in this cave and converted entire valley into Buddhism. It is 2 hours walk up hill for an average hiker, however it can take our almost entire day too. Evening back to the hotel and relax. Overnight in Paro

Day 6: Departure:
End of the Tour

  • Additional sightseeing or extra usage of vehicle, other than mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Entrance Fees & Guide charges.
  • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).
  • Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.
  • Travel Insurance.
  • Anything which is not include in the inclusion.

  • Price mentioned is on per person on twin sharing basis. (Based on Minimum 2 pax)
  • Bookings are subject to availability with the hotel.
  • Every tourist should send a Xerox copy of their voter's identity card or passport and three passport size photographs at least ten days before the tour starts. Tourists should carry their id cards at all times during the tour.
  • Company does not have any liability if the tour is cancelled or itinerary changed during the tour due to any unpredictable event.
  • Company does not cover insurance in case of any accidents or loss of belongings, etc.
  • Do not carry Indian Rs 500 or Rs 1000 currency notes.
  • Tobacco & Tobacco products are banned in Bhutan.
  • Do not bring any plant or agricultural product out of Bhutan. It is illegal.
  • Credit cards are accepted in selected establishments in Bhutan.
